The Creator built the museum according to his own plans in the building of the theater, where a young man, still unknown to anyone, showed his first paintings. Today the theater houses the greatest collection of works, from the beginning of his creative career to sunset. The author’s genius is also evident in the fact that every detail, exhibit or inscription contains a meaning that visitors have to unravel. Even the appearance seems to scream about the genius of the creator, from the giant white eggs crowning the towers of Galatea to the glass dome that is the symbol of the city.

Even the artist’s body rests in a small museum crypt, as close as possible to his creations.

The unremarkable Catalan village of Pubol attracts tourists; here stands a castle, given by the Genius to his unearthly muse — Elena Dyakonova, whom we know as Gala. The relationship between them has become synonymous with love and tenderness. The only woman who became a wife, friend, muse and model was never replaced.

Gala was involved in the design of the castle, and her husband embodied the wishes in a phantasmagoric design, using imagination and talent. Things that belonged to the couple are still in their places, so guests of the palace feel the atmosphere and aura of passion and mutual respect. Not only did Salvador admire this woman, fashion designers and jewelers sent her the latest collections and jewelry, considering it an honor that she would wear these things. Exhibits are also displayed in rooms and halls. Elena greatly valued her husband’s gift, so her body remained here after death. This is probably the power of creativity; no matter how strong the love for a person, art always wins.

In Port Ligat Bay, the artist found a source of inspiration, buying 8 huts in 1930 that formed a labyrinth. This place became the master’s family nest, and today it surprises and shocks visitors with its architecture and design. Surreal staircases, rooms and passages seem impossible. The crowning achievement is the Hall of Whispers, designed so that every word is reflected from the walls and heard more than once.

The Master’s work is viewed differently, but everyone admits that there was simply no other person like him in history. And even after death, the energy of his ideas, thoughts and life continues to amaze and proves that there are many masters, but there are only a few geniuses.
