Gaudi's Fairy Tale Tour
Gaudi’s Fairy Tale Tour – a window into the world of Antonio’s genius.
Spain gave the world great geniuses – Miro, Picasso, Dali, Gaudi, who created without any restrictions. Barcelona, in turn, hosted them in its 2000th anniversary.
The city gave artists everything for their development, and in return, the artists created a fabulous atmosphere of Barcelona with their works.
Today we invite you to feel the fate and creations of the genius of the artist Gaudi, who devoted his whole life and destiny to his beloved city. A tour of the places of fame of the famous genius will be the perfect solution if you have just one day in Barcelona and you are looking for something to see.
First of all, you should definitely visit the unique architectural monument – the Sagrada Familia Cathedral. Despite the fact that Gaudi died almost 100 years ago, construction is still carried out according to his idea and drawings. The temple has been growing since the distant 1882 and is planned to be completed by 2026.
The artist was lucky to meet Eusebio Guell, a wealthy textile magnate, mayor of Barcelona and admirer of Gaudi’s talent. It was he who introduced Antonio to the rich bourgeoisie, who ordered many objects for the artist. The creations delight the eye of the tourist to this day — this is the house of Mila, the house of Batlier, the house of Calvet. In total, Gaudi created 72 projects, but only 18 were implemented, all the others are waiting for their worthy admirers. We will visit most of these incredible sites in one day in Barcelona during a breathtaking excursion.
Park Guell — a failed fabulous cottage village for the bourgeoisie – has become one of the main attractions of Barcelona. There is the longest bench in the world, which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
Gaudi devoted the last years of his life to the construction of the Sagrada Familia Cathedral, he lived nearby and devoted all his attention and time to his brainchild! On June 7, 1926, after a normal working day at the construction site of the cathedral, Antonio was overtaken by an absurd death – he was hit by a tram. And on June 10, 1926, the heart of the Great Genius stopped beating.
The masterpieces created by him are under UNESCO protection, they still attract millions of tourists and give people a powerful charge of energy.
